1- Empowering Individuals with Down Syndrome in NW Syria
- Duration: November 15, 2024 – June 15, 2025 (7 months)
- Location: Idlib – Dana City
- Goal:
Empower individuals with Down syndrome through vocational training, psychosocial support, and social inclusion via a sustainable social enterprise model.
🔹 Expected Outputs:
Output 1.1:
- 30 individuals complete vocational training in culinary arts, customer service, and café management.
Widowed Women Component:
- Four vocational groups trained in:
- Dairy & seasonal product making
- Baking & pastry (with a focus on chronic diseases)
- Detergent production
- Mushroom farming
- 48 women trained per cycle (60 days), with special selection criteria for young widows.
Output 1.2:
- Regular psychosocial support improves emotional resilience, anxiety levels, and self-confidence.
Output 1.3:
- Four awareness campaigns conducted to reduce stigma and promote inclusion of people with Down syndrome.
2- Livelihood Support through Mud Bakeries for Women
- Location: Idlib
- Goal:
Train and support 60 women in baking traditional bread using mud ovens - Activities:
- Provide knowledge and tools for rural baking
- Support 30 women with raw materials and setup
