Because of the violent raging war in Syria, where the war suffered a large part of the losses in the heritage, especially regarding the cultural, civilizational, and urban heritage.

SHF  implemented many activities for Cultural Heritage Protection including:

Awareness sessions on the need to preserve heritage: The phenomenon of random, illegal digging in search of antiquities spread in Idlib governorate with the beginning of the Syrian war, where important archaeological and historical sites were subjected to illegal excavations, which caused the destruction.

Revival and preserving historical, and cultural buildings: In 2014, we restored two ancient houses registered with the Antiquities Office in old Aleppo. Built a wall on several the doors of the old heritage houses to prevent theft.

Conducted a similar intervention for the Mosque of Basnkoul village in Idlib governorate a Basnkoul mosque .

Preserve the stanzas, which are considered Andalusian, and which refer to religious hymns that turned into social flirtations and belong to the Syriac monk, Mar Ephrem, and they are 1700 years old. Where

we taught it to children with the aim of preserving the heritage and at the same time psychological support for these children funded from German Shepanda Halifa organization.
